China Eastern Airlines is the only carrier who operates the non-stop daily flight between Los Angeles and Shanghai. Flight MU 586 departs at 13:30 from LAX and arrives at 18:15 the next day. On the contrary, the return flight MU 583 departs at 14:55 from Shanghai Pudong International Airport and arrives at LAX at 11:30. No wonder it's much cheaper and more convenient than transfer via Tokyo or other place for transpacific travel.
