Osaka Kansai International Airport (airport code KIX) is the second largest international airport in Japan and is located on an artificial island about 50 kilometers away from the south of Osaka. There is one passenger terminal at Kansai International Airport. The international departure level on fourth floor and the international arrival level on the first floor sandwich the domestic departure and arrival level on the second floor, thereby forming a sandwich structure. This special sandwich structure ensures that the passengers can go through flight connections between international and domestic flights by simply traversing up or down an escalator or elevator, making the process very convenient and fast. In addition, passengers can arrive at every international flight gate conveniently and comfortably via the fast wing shuttle. Various kinds of train and bus routes are available, connecting the airport with Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe and other nearby cities.
